Theme- Me/ MyselfDear Parent, (s) Greetings! Let's glance through the months of 'Splendid April' and 'Amazing May'. The beginning of a new session / term is always astounding. It lets the children find their way around a new school, meet new teachers and make new friends. We feel overjoyed to see our excited and settled kids enjoying themselves on the school campus. It has been a boon and a privilege to watch these kids learn and grow day by day with the marvellous activities which give them the right exposure to express themselves. During these months, we focused upon making our young learners acquire new skills and capabilities through the theory of 'Multiple Intelligences'. Theme- Me/ myself Knowledge of the body parts and how they function is very essential for young learners as it builds and promotes good health and well-being. * The children were apprised of five sense organs and their importance through a sensory activity for understanding the sense of sight (eyes), sense of hearing (ears), sense of taste (tongue), sense of smell (nose), sense of touch (skin). * Introduction to the external and internal body parts was taken forward through discussions, flashcards, and a video demonstration. Explanation of their functions, enabled the children to understand the significance of these body parts. Naturalistic“When we honour the Earth, we honour ourselves.” - L.M. Wridem
Verbal Linguistic- EnglishLearning phonics is one of the most important stepping stones in early reading. Children learnt the phonic sounds of letters -'Nn, Oo, and Pp’ with the related vocabulary words through stories and flashcards. They learnt to trace these letters on flour/semolina. Children practiced the formations of letters in their workbooks and revised writing letters- 'a,b,c,& d' in their linguistic notebooks. They revisited sight words done so far and also learnt some new sight words- they, if, on, am. Logical MathematicalThe only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics. - Paul Halmos.
Visual- SpatialVisual arts help children present their thoughts, skills and also help them explore while performing original power as well as artistic skills creatively.
Musical IntelligenceMusic ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Indian MusicThe music of India is as diverse as its culture. Indian music is a combination of two art forms: vocal music, and instrumental music. It is based on the seven letters Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, and Ni. During the month of April, children practiced the vocal warm-up and greeting song, rhythm clapping, and also enjoyed singing हम जंगल मे गए’ and ‘सा रे गा मा’ song along with the educator. During the month of May, children practiced the welcome song ‘आओ आओ संगीत बनाओ’, vocal warmups, animal choir, rhythm clapping, and enjoyed singing ‘नटखट चूहा’ song along with the educator. Western MusicThe educator introduced a new song, ‘God’s love is so wonderful and Praise him. ‘Children could add new words to their vocabulary through this song and were enthralled to sing along. Western DanceDancing stimulates the mind, body & soul. It increases cognitive strengths and prolongs life; that is the miracle of dance.’ Dance is a beautiful form of art that helps us express ourselves and promotes growth as well as enjoyment. During the month, the children attempted warmup exercises and thrilled themselves as they danced to the tune of the song, "Bam Bam bole" during the month of April and ‘Baby shark’ and ‘Walking through the jungle’ during the month of May. Bodily Kinesthetic IntelligenceKinesthetic learning improves critical thinking and analytical skills through trial-and-error experimentation. Unlike auditory and visual learning methods, which simply present information to be absorbed, kinesthetic learning methods encourage children to discover information themselves. Children with bodily-kinaesthetic intelligence can learn more easily by doing, exploring, and discovering. During these months students practiced:
