Theme- Out in the garden Dear Parent, (s) Greetings! Let's glance through the month of ' Jazzy July' ‘Beauty surrounds us, but usually, we need to be walking in a garden to know it’. After a fun-filled summer break, the children were welcomed back to school as we commenced with another month of innovative learning and growing. To make our students appreciate the beauty and significance of nature, our theme of the month was ‘Out in the garden’. Theme- Out in the garden The children visited the school garden and enjoyed spending time amidst nature. They loved learning gardening skills with the help of the school gardener. They also explored the ways to create a beautiful garden of their own and were made familiar with the tools that a gardener uses to take care of the garden. The students were apprised of the basic needs of a plant and got a chance to explore different types of trees, leaves, flowers, and different categories of plants. They enjoyed learning the process of germination and planting seeds with the help of the educator. The students were also briefed about the essential things provided by trees and the importance of saving trees. Naturalistic ‘Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land.’ Our environment is all we have. If we don’t take care of it who will? Therefore, to cater to the Sustainable Development Goals, our children learnt about healthy sustainable practices through the below-given discussions and activities:

Verbal Linguistic – English Our kindergarteners were able to build a strong foundation for themselves by learning the phonetic sounds of letters from ‘A-Z’ and their related vocabulary words. They also practiced the formations of letters Ii, Jj, Kk, and L l through air tracing and writing. They became quite independent in reading the CVC words. Three letter words, along with various sight words, helped the students in reading short sentences. Students took immense pleasure while reading short sentences and going a level up by practicing to read vowel ‘a’ story through a Power Point presentation. Verbal Linguistic Hindi गर्मी की छुटियो में बच्चो ने स्वयं के बनाये स्वर गीत अपने सभी दोस्तों व अध्यापिकाओं को सुनाये । पुराने स्वरों को स्वर गीत व चित्र बनाने की गतिविधि से दोहराते हुए बच्चो ने नए स्वरों ओ, औ, ए, और ऐ को कहानी और भीतिपत्र के माध्यम से लिखना सीखा और अपना ज्ञान बढ़ाया। Logical Mathematical Stimulation of logical-mathematical intelligence promotes cognitive development, especially in terms of logical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, and concentration. The children were introduced to the concept of ‘Backward Counting’ from numbers 15 to 1 through number cards. They also attempted related fun worksheets in their Math workbooks. They practiced oral counting from 1 – 80 through an interactive song. Children reiterated the concept of ones-tens through workbook sheets. They were introduced to a ‘Number name Song’ and were excited to learn to write number names from ‘One to Three’ through a sand tracing activity. They also revisited the concepts of 2D and 3D shapes and undertook interesting activities like making shapes using play dough. Children made different figures from shin edu kit using a different triangle. Visual-Spatial Art is a creative therapy that uses all disciplines of art; visual movements, imagination skills, aesthetic skills, and finger dexterity. Children explored their aesthetic skills with the help of various colouring and craft activities. In the first week, the children enjoyed freehand drawing and colouring of the body parts. In the second week, they discussed various facts about plants and enjoyed leaf printing with their friends. The children enjoyed making origami flowers in the third week whereas they made the ‘Ladybug craft’ in the last week. Musical Intelligence Indian Music India is a country, known for its unity in diversity and different types of Indian Music styles. India is made up of innumerable and varied cultures that inhabit various regions of the country. In every region of India, there is a different type of Indian music which makes it different from other countries. Music of India and it’s musical traditions are considered to be the oldest in the world. The origins of this system go back to the Vedas. Musical instruments of India, are not only used for recreational music but also for sacred rituals, weddings, funerals, ceremonies, and more. During this month children enjoyed singing a ‘Welcome Song’, ‘Jungle Song’, ‘रेलगाड़ी Song’ with ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ body game and Rhythm clapping. Western Music ‘Fun, Fabulous, Uplifting and Magical’. These are just a few words that describe music together. Our music sessions provide a comfortable and engaging environment for the children and strengthen their memory. Children practiced singing the song, ‘This is the day that the Lord has made’, ‘The seven notes’, ‘Mercy is falling’ and revised the songs ‘God’s love and ‘Dididi dong’ to the tunes of a guitar. Dance Dance is a way for kids to express their creativity, imagination, and emotions. Physical fitness is just one of the many benefits of dance, that can enhance a child's life in so many ways. During the month, the children did warmup exercises and were thrilled to dance to the tunes of the song- ‘I am so happy’ Bodily-kinesthetic ''Exercise not only changes your body it changes your mind, your attitude andyour mood.” When children have a strong sense of physical and mental wellness, they are more likely to build a positive sense of self and experience positive interactions within their community. To experience the benefits of physical activity later in life, it’s best to develop a lifestyle of physical activity in our children. This month, the students practiced the following exercises:

Water Play gives them the opportunity to play and have fun in the outdoors. Water Play is both fun and educational and has a range of benefits for children’s social and emotional development. It also provides them with so many opportunities to explore different sensory experiences. Children had a lot of fun during the water play activity. Imaginarium Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, and giving birth to evolution. -Albert Einstein Children thoroughly enjoyed the pretend and play activities at different stations such as grooming station, shopping station, kitchen station, play gym, fire station, etc at the Imaginarium lab specially crafted for the development of the imaginative mind of our young learners. It helps in enhancing their creative thinking, gross motor skills, and visual-spatial intelligence. Interpersonal Intelligence Birthday celebration- Show & Tell Birthdays are days to have fun and celebrate. However, it is also a responsibility to learn about social behavior and party etiquettes. To make children learn, how to behave in social gatherings, a thematical birthday party was organized on 29th of July. The students dressed as 'Different types of plants' and showcased their learnings confidently. Storytelling Storytelling promotes brain development and imagination in children. It develops language & emotions, and helps in strengthening relationships. Keeping this view in mind, ‘Friend’ was the first story narrated this month, which emphasized upon the importance of helping and trusting each other. It was followed by a drawing activity in the second week, in which children made a drawing of two friends and represented their interdependence on each other through their drawings. They enjoyed listening to the story ‘The Foolish Timid Rabbit’ in the third week. This was followed by a ‘Puppet-Making Activity’ in the last week. Drama Drama allows kids to create their own identity by creating situations that have many similarities to the real world. It helps them to make better decisions and to speak up for what’s right for them. Children practiced the sounds of various animals and listened to the stories of ‘चरवाहा बालक और भेड़िया and तीन बकरे भाई ग्रफ्फ ’this month, with appropriate expressions and voice modulation. Special Assembly Spread your wings As it’s time for swings A lot of sweets Dance Beautiful scene Everything in green Lovely monsoon breeze Let’s celebrate Teej on beats To welcome the monsoon season, the energetic students of KG C conducted a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Teej, with lots of zeal and enthusiasm. Hartalika Teej or Hariyali Teej is a famous festival that commemorates the reunion of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Our kindergarten students apprised their friends with the significance of the festival wherein girls and women sing , dance and swing on the swings. The event concluded with a mesmerizing dance performance by the students on the song ‘Teej ayi Hariyali’ followed by the National Anthem Summer Fruit Festival A summer fruit festival was organized to expand the vocabulary and awareness of children about summer fruits in terms of the following: Name Colour of peel and pulp Seeds of fruits Products made from fruits Each classroom displayed a summer fruit and products made from it. Children visited all the EYP classrooms and tasted an array of fruit products.
