Dear Parents, Let's glance through the month of ‘Spectacular September’ ‘The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of a man.’ -Charles Darwin Animals are the most wonderful and unique creatures. They not only teach us to be compassionate and empathetic but also help in our social development. Their existence and importance in a child’s learning are of inestimable value. Every animal has a unique life value that impacts kids. Animals appeal to children's curiosity, bring enthusiasm to their learning and enrich their daily experiences. There is no doubt that most children love animals. There is a clear natural affinity between them. To help our students build a sense of connection, responsibility and enable them to develop love and care towards them, we incorporated ‘Animals’ as the theme of the month. · The children were introduced to different types of farm animals, pet and wild animals. They enhanced their knowledge about the habitat and young ones of animals. · The students were also apprised of various ways of taking care of animals. · The children enjoyed the virtual tour to a zoo and learnt about the unique features of different animals. · They were thrilled to learn the jaw-dropping facts about – African and Asiatic Lions. · The students were apprised of the concept of the ‘Food Chain’ through a story and a song. The importance of the food chain and different types of food chain were also explained by the educator. Naturalistic "We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one. There can be no 'plan B' because there is no 'planet B.'" ~Ban Ki-moon To embrace the best practices for saving our environment, the ideas given below were imbibed by the children: The educator sensitized the children towards sanitation and how we can keep our water bodies clean under SDG-6 ‘Clean Water and Sanitation.’
Verbal Linguistic Intelligence –English Children strengthened their foundation by learning the phonetic sounds from 'a-z’ along with their related vocabulary. They could recognize and correctly write letters from ‘R r to Z z’. These letters were introduced through jolly phonics songs and flashcards of their related vocabulary words with the help of Power Point Presentations. Sight words play a key role in helping them to read short sentences. Children also attempted to read the ‘en’, ‘ed’, and ‘et’ stories from their English Reader book and recapitulated short stories for vowel - ‘a’. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence –Hindi सितम्बर माह में छात्रों को व्यंजन गीत और कहानी प्रस्तुति के माध्यम से व्यंजन ट , ठ , ड , ढ, द, प, ष , व और फ का परिचय दिया गया। अध्यापिका जी ने बच्चों को इन अक्षरों से शुरू होने वाले अनेक नए शब्द सिखाये और साथ ही साथ बच्चों को भी कुछ और शब्दों को बताने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया अथवा व्यंजनों एवं स्वरों का अभ्यास कार्य-पुस्तिका में कराया। Logical Mathematical Intelligence Stimulation of logical-mathematical intelligence promotes cognitive development, especially in terms of logical thinking, reasoning, problem, solving, and concentration.
Visual-Spatial Art is a creative therapy that involves visual movements, imagination skills, aesthetic skills, and finger dexterity. Children gained these skills with the help of various coloring and craft activities. •In the first week, children enjoyed making a ‘Lion mask’ related to letter ‘Ll. They also enjoyed making the cut outs of wild animals. •In the second week, children made the ‘Cow Head Gear’ using Shape cut-outs (Integration with Theme of Farm animals and Logical Math) •In the third week, children made a ‘Giraffe Hand Puppet’ related to letter ‘Gg and wild animals. •In the fourth week, children made a freehand drawing of a Lion to understand its habitat. Musical Intelligence Musical intelligence helps to improve brainpower, and the development of social skills and it has been scientifically proven that music has a lot of advantages and health benefits. Indian Music Music is an excellent way for kids to express themselves. They can express their feelings and emotions through music. This can help them communicate better and creatively express themselves. During the month children practiced singing the ‘Welcome Song’, vocal warm-ups, rhythm clapping, animal choir, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ Body game, and ‘Sa se sang’ song along with the educator. Western Music Children enjoyed singing the songs ‘Do re mi and ‘Blue up in the sky’ to the tunes of a guitar. Dance Dance is a way for kids to express their creativity, imagination, and emotions. During the month, the children did warm-up exercises and danced to the tunes of the song, "Mere teacher ho tum hi" and "Chogada tara". Bodily-kinesthetic Our emotional intelligence is rooted in kinesthetic awareness. Our bodies can tell us about our feelings. It helps us to become aware and act accordingly. Therefore, the development of kinesthetic intelligence is a very important tool that contributes to a happy harmonious life. To strengthen our students’ emotional intelligence, foster a strong team spirit, and make them skilled at sports, the educator taught our little champions various exercises. LEAP Think beyond the magic and get beyond the imagination! To unleash the creativity of our children we conduct LEAP activities each month wherein children perform various brainstorming tasks to enhance their higher-order thinking skills and ingenuity to be future-ready. Below are the activities performed by the students this month:
SKATING ‘I may lose my balance but I never lose my determination.’ Skating helps kids burn off extra energy, build strong muscles, and maintain a healthy weight. Stress reduction – Skating is a great way to alleviate stress, and it provides a welcome distraction from everyday worries. Imaginarium ‘Imagination is the soil that brings a dream to life.’ Children showcased their imagination and creativity to create some healthy meals at the kitchen station. They were also apprised of the importance of working in a team in a congenial manner. In the progressing weeks, children enjoyed free play at different stations wherein they explored their areas of interest. Interpersonal Intelligence Birthday celebration- Show & Tell All Kindergarten children who were born in the month of September had their birthday celebrations on Friday, 30th September 2022. The theme for the celebration was ‘My Favourite Animal’. Students came dressed according to the theme and also carried a prop or a picture related to it. They spoke a few lines on their ‘Favorite Animal’. They were also apprised of how one should dress up for a party and behave in a social gathering. Storytelling The month started with a fun-loving story based on a farm setting. This story was taken up to familiarize the children with farm animals, and pet animals (their homes and young ones) followed by a recap worksheet in the second week. The third week started with an audio-visual story of a bear who didn’t know much about the planet and wanted to explore it. In the fourth week, various landscapes covering the major landforms of the earth were taken up as a follow up activity of the previous week. Drama Drama promotes communication skills, teamwork and dialogue delivery. It stimulates the imagination and creativity in a child and also develops a better understanding of human behaviour and empathy with distant situations. Kids enacted the various expressions and feelings in stories like ‘The Smart Goat’, and ‘The Fake Friendship’ in the first and second week respectively. This was followed by a role play activity of the same stories in the third and the fourth week through facial expressions and actions. Events and Celebrations Hindi Diwas Assembly हिंदुस्तान की शान है हिंदी हर हिंदुस्तानी की पहचान ही हिंदी एकता की अनुपम परंपरा है हिंदी हर दिल का अरमान है हिंदी।। 14 सितम्बर 1949 को संविधान सभा ने यह निर्णय लिया कि हिन्दी संघ सरकार की आधिकारिक भाषा होगी। इसी उपलक्ष्य में प्रतिवर्ष १४ सितम्बर को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस अवसर पर सनसिटी विद्यालय के नर्सरी - बी के छात्रों ने अपनी कक्षा की सभा में बहुत ही सुन्दर और सरल तरीके से हिंदी दिवस का महत्त्व समझाया और यह एहसास दिलाया की हिंदी भाषा हमें अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान और गौरव प्रदान करवाती है। हिंदी भाषा ने हमें एक नई पहचान दिलाई है। हिंदी संपूर्ण विश्व में बोली जाने वाली प्रमुख भाषाओं में से एक है। हिंदी हमारे स्वाभिमान और गर्व की भाषा है। प्रधानाचार्य जी ने भी बहुत सुन्दर शब्द कहे और सभा का अंत राष्ट्रीय गान के साथ किया गया। Verbal Linguistic Event के. जी.के छात्रों ने हिंदी दिवस/मौखिक भाषाई घटना (verbal linguistic event) के उप्लक्षय में एक दोहा वाचन गतिविधि का आनंद लिया और छात्रों ने कक्षा में अध्यापिका के साथ हिंदी के कुछ दोहे सीखे और उनका सही उच्चारण भी सीखा।यह उनके लिए एक रोमांचक गतिविधि थी। Gandhi Jayanti Assembly “My life is my message.” – M.K Gandhi Our little Suncitizens celebrated Bapu ji’ s birthday with great zeal, enthusiasm, and patriotism. The special assembly conducted by Nursery C was held on 30th September to give a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. The assembly began with a morning prayer which was followed by the word of the day presented by the students of Nursery C. They confidently shared a few important facts about Mahatma Gandhi. They also showcased the glimpses of Gandhiji’s life which included the ‘Non-Violence Movement’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.’ Gandhiji’s three monkeys depicted the importance of seeing good, hearing good and speaking good. The audiences were left spellbound with the melodious vocal performance of a beautiful devotional bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav raja ram’ and with the dance performance on the song, ‘Bande mein tha dum’ which filled the ambience with a feeling of patriotism for our country and gratitude towards Bapu. Towards the end, our beloved Principal ma’am, Ms Guneet Ohri motivated the children to imbibe the teachings of Gandhiji in their lives.
