Dear Parent, (s) Greetings! Theme: Aquatic Life Our goal for this month was to make children familiar with a large variety of ocean-dwelling animals. By understanding how everything is connected in the sea and ocean and how we interact with it as humans, children learnt to care and to protect the ocean as in the future they would want the Marine life to be a better place. They also learnt to identify the features of different sea animals. Universal Value- I am Tolerant Being aware of one's values helps us understand and direct our attitudes and behaviours. Our little masterminds were made aware of the universal value, “I am Tolerant” wherein they were explained about a few important values like - taking ownership of their feelings, respecting individual differences, being sensitive to the language they choose, through video demonstrations. They were made to understand that being tolerant removes one's self-imposed barriers and allows us to think broadly and enjoy greater inner peace. Children were encouraged to share their thoughts with their peers and educators through positive affirmations about how can they implement this universal value in their lives. Verbal Linguistic-English Encouraging young children to engage in reading helps them develop into confident and independent learners. We encouraged children to start reading sight words that further helps in promoting reading comprehension. Children practiced reading sight words like after, going, with, make etc. Our little learners assimilated the concept of ‘rhyming words’ and practiced reading and writing words with the help of interactive worksheets. The reading practice of ‘u’ vowel CVC words was also done through web links. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence As children mature, their development of mathematical concepts continues. We take a creative approach to teach cognitive skills to children. Colourful and interactive activities encouraged the children to learn essential math concepts in a fun way.
Visual-Spatial Intelligence Visual arts help children represent their thoughts and skills and also help them explore while performing original power as well as artistic skills creatively.

During the month, children attempted warmup exercises and danced to the tune of the ‘Let’s go deep deep’ song. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence: Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence highlights a person’s ability to use their whole body for expression and understanding. Children who possess this intelligence are highly aware of their bodies and use the same for controlling their bodily motions, using it deftly in the capacity that they like. As the month started with loads of celebrations, classes resumed from the second week of the month where children performed aquatic animal yoga (crab position, turtle position, etc.). The third and the fourth week were infused with various enjoyable exercises using hula hoop rings to help children develop their gross motor skills. Interpersonal IntelligenceHelping children develop the full range of interpersonal skills is one of the most important things we can do to ensure they grow up to have healthy relationships with others. They eagerly waited for their turns to share their knowledge with friends and reiterated the basic etiquettes to be adopted while attending a birthday party. Science Week The children conducted experiments for Air and water. They were thrilled to see the pom pom jumping as they blew air through a straw in a half-cut bottle. Through this experiment, they understood the fact that air exerts pressure. The process of formation of rain was done by using warm water and closing it with a lid. This was a visual treat for the children and it enhanced their understanding of the process of the water cycle. Project Hariyali Phase 2 Project Hariyali is an initiative taken by Suncity school to plant more and more trees with the belief that - if you nurture them today, they will nurture you tomorrow. As a part of this initiative, our little suncitizens experienced how to make organic cocopeat at home using coconut coir, mud and water. The educator briefed the little ones about the benefits of cocopeat. In addition to this, They were also shown a picture of the lemongrass plant and were encouraged to include a lemongrass plant in their homes owing to its health benefits and excellent feature of repelling mosquitoes.

Every festival has its own importance and meaning. Every festival brings happiness and harmony between our traditions and rituals. It is important to teach children the importance of celebrating festivals. Our growing kids should be taught the true meaning of rituals, culture, and devotion of festivals. Celebrating festivals with everyone can help your kids to meet and greet everyone as well as they can learn the importance of togetherness. Traditional cuisine encourages the joy of celebrations during the festive time.
